The ICT TAO II — written TAO2 in part numbers — is the later generation of the TAO platform, and it splits into two families depending on how your machine talks to the validator. The TAO2-A builds cover pulse, NISR, ICT002U, and RS232 in 110V and 12V, and the TAO2-V builds are 24V MDB units with a metal bezel, which is the configuration most vending and MDB-based cabinets need.
Part numbers carry the family letter right after TAO2. A TAO2A1PB5AUSD6KU is a 110V pulse, NISR, ICT002U, and RS232 unit with a standard bezel; a TAO2V3MF5-USD6KU is a 24V MDB metal bezel unit with a 500 note stacker. Dual-currency Mexican peso and US dollar builds are available in the TAO2-V line. Because the interface and bezel change with the family, an A-series and a V-series unit are not interchangeable even at the same capacity.
Cashboxes for the TAO II are the SS2 200 note lock style and the ST5 500 note twist knob style, and the earlier TAO-A/V ST2 also fits. Service parts include the AA315H TAO2-A CPU board, AA337N TAO2-V CPU board, AA337J sensor board, AA315J LED board, and the TAO calibration card.
Common questions about the ICT TAO II
- TAO2-A or TAO2-V? Pick the A family for pulse, RS232, NISR, and ICT002U installs, and the V family for 24V MDB with a metal bezel.
- Does it replace a TAO-A? In most cases yes, but confirm your machine's interface first — the TAO II adds options the TAO-A does not have.
- Are cashboxes shared with the TAO-A? Yes, several TAO-A/V cashboxes carry over.
- Need a dual-currency build? MXN and USD dual-currency TAO2-V units are available.
