MEI — now part of Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) — builds two families that cover most of the installed base: the Talos series for vending and amusement equipment, and the SC Advance note validators used heavily in casino and gaming cabinets. Both are stocked here, along with the interface and packaging variants each family ships in.
Talos models such as the T602, T6T2, T684, T702, T7D2, T7R2, T812, and T8T1 are built as either vending or amusement units and differ by interface and configuration code. The SC Advance line — SCN and SCNM part numbers in the 6600, 8300, and 8500 series — is where the interface matters most: RS232, USB, Netplex/IGT, GDS, GSA, OPTO, and MPS variants are all distinct units, and options such as an integrated barcode reader or a cashbox detect switch change the part number.
Because SC Advance units are sold as bare validators, packaged units, or multi-unit packs, check the packaging noted on each listing as well as the part number. If you are replacing a validator in a gaming cabinet, the host interface has to match the machine — send us the part number from the existing unit or the cabinet model and we will confirm compatibility before you order.
