International Currency Technologies (ICT) has ended production of the entire A6 bill acceptor lineup. All 24 A6 model variants are now end-of-life. The direct, drop-in replacement is the upgraded ICT A6E series — 7 variants available now, same form factor, better performance, $210 each.
Why Was the ICT A6 Discontinued?
ICT regularly updates its product line to keep pace with new U.S. currency releases, evolving security features, and advances in optical bill-reading technology. The A6 series, while a reliable workhorse for arcade, vending, gaming, and amusement applications for many years, has reached its end-of-life cycle.
The ICT A6E ("E" for Enhanced) is the next-generation replacement. It is engineered to accept the same currency denominations ($1, $5, $10, $20), fits the same mounting footprint as the A6, and uses the same connector pinout and interface types (Pulse and RS232). In the vast majority of installations, the A6E is a plug-and-play swap for the A6.
